Azar Majedi (en farsi آذر ماجدی) est une femme politique iranienne vivant en exil en Angleterre.
Biographie
Née en Iran, Azar Majedi étudiait la littérature au Canada lorsque commença la révolution de 1978 contre le régime du Shah. Revenue à Téhéran, elle s'engage dans la défense des droits des femmes et milite à l'Union des combattants communistes. Lors de la vague de répression de 1982, menée par le régime islamique, elle se réfugie, avec son mari Mansoor Hekmat, dans la « zone libérée » contrôlée par Komala au Kurdistan. Elle participe à la fondation du Parti communiste d'Iran et devient responsable de la radio clandestine de celui-ci. En 1984, elle quitte l'Iran pour la Suède et le Danemark.
En 1991, elle prend part à la fondation du Parti communiste-ouvrier d'Iran, dont restera membre du bureau politique jusqu'en 2004, avant de devenir l'une des dirigeantes du Parti d'unité communiste-ouvrière. Elle est également présidente de l'Organisation pour la Libération des femmes - Iran (Azadizan).
