Thog

Thog est un super-vilain d'origine démoniaque appartenant à l'univers de Marvel Comics. Il est apparu pour la première fois dans Adventures Into Fear #11, en 1972.

Origines

Quand Atum affronta les Anciens Dieux sou sa forme de Démogorge, une grande quantité d'énergie mystique se dispersa et donna naissance à une multitude de démons, comme Satannish, Méphisto et Thog.

Vers la fin du XXe siècle, l'Homme-Chose affronta un démon arrivé sur Terre à la suite d'une invocation. Thog avait lui aussi profité du portail d'accès, et il se retrouva aussi sur Terre. Jennifer Kale brûla la livre d'incantation, et Thog, perdant son pouvoir, fut battu.

Thog transporta Jennifer et la créature du marais, redevenu pour l'occasion Ted Sallis, et les tenta avec de grandes richesses. Mais Sallis refusa l'offre et retrouva son corps monstrueux, ce qui lui permit toutefois de vaincre une seconde fois le démon.

Plus tard, Thog s'allia à Pluton et Méphisto lorsque Zeus organisa le mariage forcé de Hyppolita et d'Hercule. Les dieux maléfiques affrontèrent les Champions de Los Angeles.

À la tête d'une armée d'âmes, il fut aussi opposé aux Défenseurs. Son armée se révolta contre lui, ce qui aida les héros pour le battre.

Pouvoirs

  • Thog est un démon, une puissante entité mystique. Quand il prend forme physique (une humanoïde à la peau rouge et à la queue fourchue), sa force et son endurance sont incroyables.
  • Il a accès à de nombreux sorts magiques et utilise souvent des sorts d'attaque, comme des boules de feu. Lui-même ne craint pas les flammes.
  • C'est un excellent bretteur, utilisant deux sabres en même temps.
