The Fall of Troy est un groupe de post-hardcore originaire de Mukilteo (Washington, États-Unis d'Amérique). Il a été influencé par les groupes progressifs Rush et King Crimson et les groupes expérimentaux At the drive-in et The Blood Brothers.

Biographie

The Fall of Troy se nommait au départ Thirty Years War (La Guerre de Trente Ans en anglais), et comportait un quatrième membre : Mike Munro, chanteur et guitariste. Thirty Years War sortit deux EP : Martyrs Among the Casualties et Live at the Paradox. Ce n'est qu'au départ de Munro que le groupe trouva son nom définitif, après avoir feuilleté un livre d'histoire. En 2003 sort leur premier album, éponyme, sur le label Lujo Records. A cette époque, les trois membres du groupe étaient âgés de moins de 17 ans. En 2004 sort un EP auto-produit : Ghostship (le Bateau Fantôme en anglais). Puis, en 2005, le groupe signe un contrat avec Equal Vision Records pour sortir plus tard leur deuxième album, Doppelgänger. En 2006, le premier album du groupe, sorti sur Lujo Records, est réédité par Equal Vision Records. Durant une tournée de cette même année, le chanteur et guitarsite Thomas Erak déclara : "This is the last song the Fall of Troy will ever play together." ("C'est le dernier morceau que The Fall of Troy jouera ensemble." en anglais). Malgré tout, en 2007 sort un troisième album, Manipulator, toujours sur le même label, produit par Matt Bayles, producteur, entre autres, de groupes célèbres tels qu'Isis, Botch ou Mastodon. [1]

Leur nouvel album devrait sortir le 6 Octobre au Etat-Unis d'après le site officiel du groupe. Le titre définitif de cette album est : In The Unlikely Event
