The Reddings est un groupe funk,fondé par les fils de Otis Redding, Dexter et Otis, ainsi que leur cousin Mark, qui connut son heure de gloire à la fin des années 1970, notamment avec « The awakening », un titre particulièrement musclé joué uniquement à la batterie et à la guitare basse repris par le groupe Americain Primus.
