The Little Ones est un groupe d'indie pop originaire de Los Angeles.

Le groupe sort un maxi (EP), Sing Song sous le label Astralwerks Records. En 2006, Matt Costa les invite à faire la première partie de son concert au Bowery Ballroom à New-York, ce qui leur permet d'acquérir une certaine notoriété. Fin 2007, ils accompagnent les anglais de Kaiser Chiefs (ainsi que le groupe We Are Scientists) lors de leur tournée au Royaume-Uni.

Peu après la sortie d'un nouveau single Ordinary Song, début 2008, ils perdent leur contrat et doivent repousser la sortie de leur premier album. Ils sortent alors un nouvel EP, Terry Tales & Fallen Gates, avec Branches Recording Collective. Le 28 juillet 2008 sort finalement leur premier album, Morning Tide, édité par le label Heavenly Recordings. Cette sortie est précédée par celle d'un single du même nom une semaine plus tôt. L'album fut plutôt bien accueilli par la presse.

Le style des Little Ones leur a valu d'être comparés à plusieurs groupes pop des années 60 comme les Beach Boys, les Kinks, les Zombies, au groupe actuel des Shins, ou encore au collectif Elephant Six.
