Lenormand saute de la tour de l'observatoire de Montpellier en 1783.
Louis-Sébastien Lenormand (né le 25 mai 1757 et décédé en décembre 1837) est physicien et inventeur français, aussi bien que le premier parachutiste. Après une chute d'un arbre avec deux parapluies modifiés, il améliore son invention et le 26 décembre 1783 il saute de la tour de l'observatoire de Montpellier devant une foule comprenant Joseph Montgolfier, utilisant un parachute avec un cadre rigide en bois. La fonction initialement prévue pour son invention était de sauver les gens lors d'incendies d'immeuble .
