Authoritarian est une filiale musicale professionnelle du géant du jeu vidéo EA Games. Elle a vu le jour en 2003 avec, entre autres, la sortie des jeux Anno 1503 et SimCity 4 auxquels elle a contribué aux créations musicales.
La filiale n'avait pas de nom concret jusqu'en 2007 et la sortie du jeu SimCity Sociétés. En effet, son nom actuel vient d'une des sociétés jouables du jeu : la société dite "autoritaire", tout droit inspirée du roman de George Orwell, 1984.
Un CD contenant les deux titres du jeu adaptés à la société autoritaire a même été mise en vente en série limitée pendant quelques mois.
