La Fédération samoane de rugby à XV (Samoa Rugby Football Union) est une organisation membre de l'International Rugby Board (IRB) qui régit l'organisation du rugby à XV aux îles Samoa.
Elle regroupe les fédérations provinciales, les clubs, les associations, les sportifs, les entraîneurs, les arbitres, pour contribuer à la pratique et au développement du rugby dans tout le territoire samoan.
Elle est divisée en 12 fédérations locales. La Samoa Rugby Football Union est membre de la Pacific Islands Rugby Alliance (PIRA), avec les Fidji et le Tonga. Le rugby à XV est pratiqué dans 120 clubs par environ 5 000 joueurs adultes et 10 000 juniors, alors que la population n'est que de 175 000 habitants.
Historique
Le rugby à XV fut introduit à Samoa en 1920 et la fédération samoane de rugby fut créée en 1924.
L'équipe de Samoa a joué son premier match international contre l'équipe de Fidji le 18 août 1924 , Samoa a perdu 0-6. Le match retour fut gagné par Samoa sur le score de 9-3.
