L’Astrophysics Data System (ADS) est un portail Internet qui permet de chercher dans la littérature des articles scientifiques concernant l'astronomie. Les articles n'y sont pas stockés, comme pour ArXiv, mais le portail permet de rechercher des articles dans différentes sources, comme les journaux scientifiques avec comité de lecture (pour l'astronomie, principalement Astronomy and Astrophysics, MNRAS, The Astrophysical Journal et The Astronomical Journal), ainsi que les comptes-rendus de conférences, les chapitres de livres, etc.
ADS permet de non seulement trouver les articles, mais aussi de facilement suivre les articles qui citent un article donné, ainsi que les articles connexes. ADS inclut des liens automatiques vers ArXiv et fournit aussi des alertes personnalisées par courrier électronique.
