Rise and Fall of a Decade

Rise and Fall of a Decade est un groupe formé en avril 1988 par Thierry Sintoni, Pierre-François Maurin-Malet, Sandy Casado et actuellement sur le Label Allemand Black Rain

Volontairement à contre courant et hors des mouvements initiés par leurs contemporains, le trio français classé au rayon Gothique ou Heavenly Voices, a livré en une décennie quatre albums d'une Pop post moderne et incisive. Il a connu dans les années un certain succès, jusque sur des radios de grande écoute (émission Les Inrockuptibles).

Depuis 1997, tous les vidéos clips des RAFOAD sont produits et réalisés par Nemo Sandman.

En mai 2007 le groupe est endeuillé par la disparition de leur chanteur et parolier, Pierre-François Maurin-Malet[1].

Leur dernier album est donc paru après ce décès. Il était accompagné d'un hommage à Pierre-François Maurin-Malet : A missing friend tribute, CD rassemblant 12 reprises ou versions alternatives de chansons de Rise & Fall of a Decade. Les reprises sont signées par O Quam Tristis, Collection d'Arnell-Andréa, Hide&Seek, Speaking Silence et Nemo Sandman.

Studio Unity Mitford

Leur Studio où a été enregistré entre autres le premier album des groupes Speaking Silence ou Planète Zen s'appelle Unity Mitford. Unity Mitford - de nationalité anglaise - est une égérie du Nazisme, dont vous pouvez lire l'histoire assez complète sur la fiche anglaise de Wikipédia, utilisant par là le même genre de référence à la 2de guerre mondiale que Joy Division ou New order. Unity Mitford, en apprenant la déclaration de guerre envoyée par son pays au IIIe Reich, se suicide en 1939. il est très exagéré de voir dans cette référence, une apologie du nazisme.
