Étymologie du nom "Rhea"
Rhea est un nom très ancien que les puristes insistent doit être écrit avec un "e" sans accent puisque le "h" était là pour infléchir le "e" à l'époque où la langue ne comprenait pas encore d'accents. Ses origines sont probablement celtes et voulait probablement dire aux temps des gaulois « roi » ou plutôt « chef ». Un des clans écossais (le creuset des celtes) les plus anciens est le clan MacRea (que l'on voit écrit tour à tour MacRhea, MacRé, McRéa, etc...) probablement aussi apparenté au sens de « chef ». On se souviendra aussi que les égyptiens nommaient, Rê aussi appelé Ra ou Réa, le dieu du disque solaire (le dieu tout puissant).
Sur des très anciennes cartes, on peut voir que l’île de Ré s’appelait autrefois île de Rhea. Or nous savons que l’île retrace ses origines à l’arrivé des celtes en Gaule.
