Quiverfull

Quiverfull

Quiverfull est un mouvement chrétien conservateur qui ne constitue pas une église en lui même mais qui est transversal. Certains de ses membres sont baptistes, d'autres protestants d'une autre congrégation ou catholiques[réf. nécessaire].

Le nom « Quiverfull » (carquois remplis) fait référence au passage du Nouveau Testament Psaumes 127:3-5 :

3 Voici, des fils sont un héritage de l’Éternel, le fruit des entrailles est une récompense.
4 Comme les flèches dans la main d’un guerrier, ainsi sont les fils de la jeunesse.
5 Heureux l’homme qui en a rempli son carquois ! Ils ne seront pas confus, quand ils parleront avec des ennemis à la porte[1].

Pensée

Les parents sont considérées comme des missionnaires qui doivent accepter le devoir parental d'avoir une progéniture nombreuse. Le mouvement est donc généralement opposé à la contraception, favorable à l'enseignement à domicile et considère que les chrétiens doivent faire totalement confiance à Dieu quant à l'agrandissement de la famille.
