Playmates on the run

Playmates on the run est un groupe de musique Franco Britannique formé en 2003.

C'est dans le défunt lieu culturel autogéré des Diables bleus à Nice que Pits, de retour de 10 ans passés à Londres, rencontre la britannique Gàli. A eux deux ils forment playmates on the run, un duo composé de machines, guitare et chant.

Après 2 ans dans une mouvance plutôt trip hop, ils se tournent vers des compositions plus electroclash voir electro rock, un mélange d'électro kitch, de beats hardcore, riffs de guitare punk, le tout appuyé par la voix de Gàli. Les Playmates, toujours auto-produit par leur label Artek LaB, se produisent sur scène auprès d'artistes d'univers différents, Wax Tailor, 69db, Alec Empire, Suburbass, Signal électrique, Chimère, René Binamé, Raoul Petite et Ethnopaire.

Le style de musique leur importe peu et l'on retrouve dans leurs influences un mélange varié allant de l'électro à la musique industrielle en passant par l'electropunk et electroclash.

En 2007, 30 artistes de tous pays contribuent à la sortie d'un double CD regroupant 30 remixes de morceaux des Playmates on the run, parmi lesquels Suburbass, Signal électrique, Gotek, Desert storm, FKY, Banditos, 9mm, Dolls of pain, waks.
