Guangzhou Wan
Guangzhou Wan ou Kouang-Tchéou-Wan (« baie de Canton ») est un territoire annexé par la France le 27 mai 1898 pour contrebalancer le pouvoir de Hong Kong et de Macao et pour étendre la zone d'influence de la France à partir de l'Indochine au sud-ouest de la Chine (Yunnan, Sichuan et Guangdong). Les Français s'en servent de comptoir pour l'expédition des produits miniers tirés des concessions accordées par la Chine.
Les projets d'extension des chemins de fer indochinois Hanoi-Kunming vers le Yunnan et le reste de la Chine sont un espoir supplémentaire pour asseoir une légitimité géopolitique de la France en Chine.
En janvier 1900, l'annexion se transforme en un bail de quatre-vingt-dix-neuf ans et devient le Territoire de Kouang-Tchéou-Wan. Son centre administratif est baptisé Fort-Bayard. Il passe sous l'autorité du gouverneur général d'Indochine française. Envahi par les Japonais en 1943, il est rétrocédé à la République de Chine en 1946.
Fort-Bayard a été rebaptisé Zhanjiang.
