Kunqu
Le kunqu (崑曲, pinyin : Kūnqǔ) parfois également appelé kunju (昆剧, pinyin : kūnjù) est la plus vieille forme d'opéra chinois qui soit encore jouée.
Vieille de plus de 600 ans, elle a beaucoup influencé le développement d'autres formes d'opéra, entre autres l'opéra de Pékin. Pendant deux cent ans, le kunqu a été le théâtre classique par excellence. L'Âge d'or de la dramaturgie chinoise, durant la dynastie Ming, a donné naissance surtout à des œuvres écrites pour le kunqu.
Celui-ci a perdu en popularité avec la disparition des grandes familles aristocratiques, mécènes de troupes d'acteurs. Le 18 mai 2001, le kunqu a été reconnu par l'UNESCO comme un « chef-d'œuvre du Patrimoine Oral et Immatériel de l'Humanité ». Des groupes professionnels existent dans plusieurs villes chinoises, dont Nanjing, Suzhou ou encore Shanghaï.
