Kenneth Ring est un professeur émérite de psychologie à l'université du Connecticut. Il est surtout connu pour les études qu'il a menées sur un grands nombres d'individus ayant eu des expériences de mort imminente (EMI). Il est président et co-fondateur de l'International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) et est le fondateur et éditeur du Journal of Near-Death Studies. Ses travaux sont dans la lignée de ceux du docteur Raymond Moody.
Il a collaboré et travaillé avec Evelyn Elsaesser-valarino, qui est comme le professeur Kenneth Ring, membre d'honneur de l'INREES, Institut de Recherche sur les Expériences Extraordinaires.
