Kay Redfield Jamison (22 juin, 1946) est une psychologue et une écrivaine américaine. Elle est l'un des tout premiers experts américain du trouble bipolaire, dont elle souffre elle-même.
Elle détient un doctorat en psychologie de l'Université de Californie à Los Angeles, où elle commence sa carrière. Désignée comme l'un des « héros de la médecine » par Time Magazine, elle est l'un des cinq experts interrogés pour la série télévisée Great Minds of Medicine de PBS. Son livre Manic-Depressive Illness (rédigé avec Frederick K. Goodwin, 1990 et 2007) est devenu un manuel classique sur le sujet[réf. nécessaire]. An Unquiet Mind, une autobiographie dans laquelle elle raconte sa propre expérience en tant que bipolaire, a rencontré un grand succès aux États-Unis (traduction française : Confession d'une psychiatre maniaco-dépressive, Robert Laffont, 1997).
Kay Redfield Jamison a également étudié le lien entre la bipolarité (cyclothymie) et la créativité dans son livre phare : Touched With Fire publié en 1993 aux États-Unis mais non traduit en français.
