Le JCM 800 est l'ampli de référence en matière de rock [réf. nécessaire]. Créé par la firme Marshall Amplification, ce dernier fut utilisé par tout les grands nom du rock[réf. nécessaire].
Ampli à lampe de Classe A, il a été créé dans le milieu des années 70 et reste depuis une référence incontestée. Depuis les années 2000 il a été remodelé pour donner vie à la série JVM qui garde en grande partie le son du JCM 800 tout en y améliorant les possibilités d'aptation : le nombre de canaux a ainsi été porté à 4 et chacun possède des contrôles séparés ce qui donne plus d'une vingtaine de boutons uniquement pour le pré ampli.
