Ce film se situe dans la région aurifère du Klondike, qui est utilise dans le Mickey Mouse The Klondike Kid (1932) et le sera régulièrement utilisée dans les histoires de l'univers de Donald Duck, et particulièrement celles avec Picsou.
C'est après la production de ce film que Charles Mintz demande à Walt Disney la production d'une nouvelle série, Oswald le lapin chanceux qu'il vends à Unviersal dès mars, obligeant Disney à produire les deux séries en parallèle durant mars et avril, pour ne produire que plus des Oswald à partir de mai 1927[1].
