Eldiguz
Shams ed-Din Eldigüz ou Ildeniz fut le premier des atabegs d'Azerbaïdjan, qui régna de 1137 à 1175 et fonda la dynastie des Eldiguzides.
Il avait d'abord été esclave, et réussit à gagner la confiance des sultans seldjoukides Mahmoud et Massoud. Il devint émir sous ce dernier : il reçut en fief une partie de l'Azerbaïdjan, épousa la veuve de Mahmoud, et prit le titre d'atabeg (« beau-père »). Il substitua dans presque toute la Perse son pouvoir à celui des Seldjoukides et fit la guerre aux Géorgiens. Il mourut en 1175 à Hamadan, laissant deux fils qui lui succédèrent.
