Alfred Aho
Le Dr Alfred Vaino Aho (né le 9 août 1941 à Timmins, Ontario) est un informaticien canadien qui travaille dans les laboratoires Bell; il est professeur d'informatique à l'université Columbia.
Il est particulièrement connu pour avoir créé le langage de programmation Awk avec Peter J. Weinberger et Brian Kernighan, et pour avoir écrit avec Ravi Sethi et Jeffrey Ullman le Dragon book, livre de référence dans le domaine de la compilation.
Il est avec Margaret Corasick le créateur de l'algorithme d'Aho-Corasick publié en 1975 et utilisé dans l'utilitaire grep disponible sous Unix.
