Le joyau d'Alfred est un bijou de la fin du Xe siècle.
Long d'environ 6 cm, il se compose d'une plaque d'émail cloisonné recouverte d'un cristal de quartz poli et entourée de fils d'or. Il porte des symboles ecclésiastiques, ainsi que l'inscription aelfred mecc heht gewyrcan, soit « J'ai été réalisé sur ordre d'Alfred ». Son rôle est incertain : il pourrait s'agir de la tête d'un pointeur de lecture, d'une broche ou bien d'un fragment de couronne.
Il a été découvert en 1693 à proximité d'Athelney, dans le Somerset où Alfred s'était réfugié au plus fort de la guerre contre les Danois. Une copie est visible dans l'église de North Petherton.
Des joyaux similaires ont été trouvés ailleurs dans l'ancien royaume de Wessex : le Joyau de Minster Lovell, le Joyau de Bowleaze et le Joyau de Warminster (ou Joyau du Wessex).
