Esther Kamatari, née en 1951, est écrivain, mannequin et princesse exilée du Burundi. Son père était le frère du roi burundais Mwambutsa IV.
Après l'indépendance en 1962, le roi est renversé par un coup d'État militaire. Elle va à Paris où elle travaille comme mannequin. C'est d'ailleurs dans cette ville qu'elle a choisi d'élever ses deux enfants, Jade et Arthur. Elle est connue pour son mission humanitaire envers les victimes de la guerre civile au Burundi et comme fondatrice du parti Abahuza (« rassembler » en kirundi).
Esther Kamatari a été candidate à l'élection présidentielle au Burundi en 2005.
Elle représente la marque Jean-Luc François, un créateur de mode qui après avoir travaillé 15 ans pour Yves Saint Laurent, 3 ans chez Dior... a créé sa propre ligne de prêt-à-porter pour femmes.
Elle est conseillère municipale à Boulogne-Billancourt depuis 2008, déléguée à la solidarité internationale.
