District de Xiangyang (Xiangfan)
Le district de Xiangyang (襄阳区 ; pinyin : Xiāngyáng Qū) est une subdivision administrative de la province du Hubei en Chine. Il est placé sous la juridiction de la ville-préfecture de Xiangfan.
Histoire
Il correspond à l'ancienne ville de Xiangyang (chinois traditionnel : 襄陽 ; chinois simplifié : 襄阳 ; pinyin : Xiāngyáng), édifiée durant la dynastie des Han. Cette cité à grande valeur historique, située sur la rivière Han, accueillit un grand nombre de lettrés, politiciens influents et hommes de talent au cours de ses deux mille ans d'histoire. Durant l'époque des Trois Royaumes, la ville fut au cœur de plusieurs événements historiques puisqu'elle était située au carrefour des trois royaumes combattants : Wei, Wu et Shu. Cette ancienne cité fut aussi grandement connue pour l'assiègement mongol auquel elle prit part de 1267 à 1273. Xiangyang a fusionné avec une autre ancienne cité nommée Fancheng pour former la ville actuellement connue sous le nom de Xiangfan.
