Les United States district courts (cours de district des États-Unis) sont les tribunaux de premier niveau du Système judiciaire fédéral américain. On trouve au moins un district par État, plus un dans le District de Columbia et trois à Puerto Rico. Il existe aussi des cours de district dans trois zones insulaires : les Îles Vierges américaines, Guam et les Îles Mariannes du Nord. Elles "exercent la même juridiction que les cours de districts des États-Unis."[réf. nécessaire], mais ne sont pas techniquement des "District Courts of the United States" : leurs juges ne bénéficient pas des protections de l'Article III de la Constitution américaine et ne servent que pour un mandat de dix ans et non à vie comme les juges de district. Un district comprend souvent plusieurs courthouses.

. Le nom officiel d'une cour de district est "the United States District Court for" suivi du nom du district, par exemple la United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
