WeBSurg: World Electronic Book of Surgery est un site web développé par des chirurgiens pour des chirurgiens, spécialisé en chirurgie mini-invasive (chirurgie digestive, urologique et gynécologique).

Créé par le professeur Jacques Marescaux et son équipe de l'IRCAD, WeBSurg est une Université virtuelle spécialisée en chirurgie accessible partout dans le monde via Internet sur www.websurg.com.

Disponible en langue française, anglaise, espagnole, japonaise et chinoise, WeBSurg vise à apporter à la communauté chirurgicale, aux sociétés savantes, aux écoles médicales et aux industriels la première formation chirurgicale mondiale en ligne, de l’information sur les innovations chirurgicales, ainsi que la possibilité de dialoguer avec des praticiens et des experts du monde entier.

WeBSurg s'adresse à la communauté chirurgicale dans son ensemble (chirurgiens, anesthésistes, personnel soignant) en fournissant un produit qui corresponde à leurs attentes (formation, information, échanges).

WeBSurg offre plus de :

  • 130 techniques opératoires
  • 850 vidéos d'interventions chirurgicales
  • 1200 avis d'experts et débats entre experts
  • 160 mini-conférences multimédia
  • Des points CME (Continuing Medical Education), ...

L'accès au contenu de WeBSurg est totalement gratuit et ne nécessite qu'une inscription sur le site.

Depuis septembre 2008, WeBSurg permet également le téléchargement de vidéos HD.


Statistiques

Depuis sa création, WeBSurg a connu une évolution spectaculaire : le nombre de visiteurs du site est passé de 9 765 par mois en janvier 2002 à plus de 49 000 en février 2006, 5 200 heures de vidéos ont été constatées en février 2006...
