Abba Bahrey (አባ ባሕርይ) est un moine, historien et ethnographe éthiopien de la fin du XVIe siècle. Il écrira en 1593 son œuvre la plus connue, une histoire des Oromos et de leur migration à la fin du XVIe siècle : Zénahou Legalla (ዜናሁ ፡ ለጋላ)[1], "Histoire des Gallas" (terme maintenant péjoratif désignant historiquement les Oromos). Il aurait été également l'auteur des chroniques de l'empereur Sarsa Dengel: "L'Histoire du Roi Sarsa Dengel"[2].
