Ciociarie (Ciociarìa [tʃotʃaˈɾiːa], Cioceria ou Ciocciarìa[1]) est le nom d'une zone du centre de l'Italie dans la région du Latium, aux limites mal définies. Depuis 1921 le même nom a été utilisé par des clubs ou associations pour nommer la province de Frosinone.
Étymologie
Ciociarie signifie “terre des ciociàri”, des gens ont ainsi été appelés par le nom des chaussures traditionnelles connues sous le nom de ciocia ['tʃotʃa] (en latin SOCCUS).
