Chris « Whipper » Layton était le batteur du groupe de blues électrique Double Trouble, mené par Stevie Ray Vaughan. Né en 1955 à Corpus Christi, Chris déménage à Austin en 1975. Chris a joué avec plusieurs artistes avant la mort de Stevie Ray Vaughan en 1990.
