Charles Vess né le 10 juin 1951 à Lynchburg (Virginie), est un peintre et illustrateur fantasy art américain. Son style est très influencé par Arthur Rackham & Alphonse Mucha.

Il est diplômé en 1974 d'un BFA de "Virginia Commonwealth University".
