La Bristol Stool Scale est une échelle visuelle comprenant sept niveau permettant au patient de déterminer l'importance de la constipation (types 1 ou 2) ou de la diarrhée (types 5 à 7) dont il souffre.
Elle a été développée à l'université de Bristol et a été publiée en 1997.
En pratique médicale cet outil est peu utilisé.
