Synopsis
Au cœur de l'empire américain - entre une morale puritaine très stricte et une absence totale de scrupule lorsqu'il s'agit de défendre l'hégémonie des USA -, deux amis d'enfance engagent la CIA dans une opération périlleuse : en pleine Guerre froide, relancer la mafia russe pour mieux combattre le communisme de l'intérieur. Ainsi apparaissent l'un après l'autre les acteurs d'une menace qui risque, aujourd'hui plus que jamais, d'exploser au grand jour. Les États-Unis ont toujours eu l'art de créer eux-mêmes leurs meilleurs ennemis.
