Sorti en 1968 (et inédit en France jusqu'en 2010) The Swimmer est un film américain réalisé par Frank Perry, mais terminé par Sydney Pollack. Sydney Pollack aurait réalisé notamment la séquence entre Burt Lancaster et le personnage de son ancienne maîtresse, jouée par Janice Rule[1]. Le scénario du film est inspiré d'une nouvelle de John Cheever.
Synopsis
En rendant visite à ses voisins, Ned Merrill décide de rentrer chez lui à la nage : de piscine en piscine. De là, il rencontre son voisinage et se découvre un peu plus à chaque passage.
