The Mana World (Le Monde de Mana) aussi appelé TMW est un MMORPG libre et gratuit en 2 dimensions. La première version a été publiée en 2004 sous la licence GNU GPL. Il a pour origine l'italien Eugenio Favallijeu, programmeur et créateur du jeu, qui l'a commencé comme un petit projet durant ses loisirs. Au fil du temps, le jeu a gagné en popularité, et compte aujourd'hui plus de 6000 joueurs de plus de 30 pays différents. Les comptes des utilisateurs inactifs sont supprimés tous les 6 mois ce qui permet d'obtenir des statistiques réalistes sur les joueurs actifs et leur origine. Une communauté de développeurs, designers et musiciens travaillent bénévolement pour faire vivre le projet. Le serveur officiel en Pologne est ainsi par exemple maintenu par des dons de la communauté.
