The Irishman est un film de gangster américain réalisé par Martin Scorsese, prévu pour 2012[1]. Le film est basé sur le livre I Heard You Paint Houses de Charles Brandt racontant l'histoire vraie de Frank Sheeran, un vétéran de la Seconde Guerre mondiale d'origine irlandaise devenu tueur à gages au service de la pègre italo-américaine. Il aurait assuré plus de 25 contrats et aurait participé à l'assassinat du syndicaliste Jimmy Hoffa en 1975[réf. nécessaire].
C'est le scénariste Steven Zaillian qui signe le scénario[2].
