Sphodrias

Sphodrias était un général spartiate, chargé par le roi Cléombrote de garder Thespies en -375. Il tenta de prendre Athènes par surprise en une seule nuit. Cette tentative fut appelée le « coup de Sphodrias ».

Ayant échoué, il fut désavoué par Sparte, alors officiellement en paix avec Athènes. Sphodrias fut donc rapatrié et officiellement condamné, mais finit par être lavé de tout soupçon. Son fils Cléonymos mourut à Leuctres en -371.
