Sherardia est un genre de plante à fleur, proche du gaillet, de la famille des rubiaceae, d'Europe, d'Asie du sud-est et d'Afrique du nord.
Le genre Sherardia ne compte qu'une seule espèce: la rubéole des champs ou shérardie: Sherardia arvensis.
Le nom de Shererdia vient du botaniste anglais William Sherard
Description
Plante annuelle , plus ou moins couchée, velue. Feuilles elliptiques, verticillées par 4 ou 6. Fleurs mauves, par capitules entourrées de bractées foliacées.
Habitat
Terrains cultivés ou nus.
Répartition
Europe, Afrique du Nord, Asie du sud-ouest
