Robert Castello est né le 7 juin 1906 à Agres en Espagne. Il décède en Mai 1976 à Toulouse[1]. Ingénieur en aéronautique. Il est le père, avec Pierre Mauboussin, de l'avion à réaction école français, le CM 170 "MAGISTER" construit par les usines FOUGA. Après un long passage au bureau d'étude des projets chez Emile DEWOITINE, Robert CASTELLO, du crayon duquel sortira le Dewoitine 520, créera 16 planeurs sous le nom "CASTEL", puis, avec Pierre MAUBOUSSIN, ils élaborent le fameux CM 170 Fouga "MAGISTER".
