La nucléation ("germination") est le phénomène suivant lequel apparaissent les premiers germes cristallins d'une phase solide ou d'un composé, aussi appelé nuclei (groupe d'atomes ou d'ions présentant une structure ordonnée correspondant à la maille d'une structure cristalline).
