Bernard Born

Animateur culturel et comédien, Bernard Born est né le 4 mars 1947, à Saint-Imier et décédé le 18 février 1982 à Saint-Imier. Il a joué de petits rôles dans La Boum, de Claude Pinoteau, et dans Jean-Jacques Rousseau, de Claude Goretta.

Alors que tout le destinait à des études d'ingénieur, c'est vers le théâtre que se dirigea Bernard Born, suivant les cours de l'École d'art dramatique de Lausanne. A 22 ans, il obtenait son diplôme de comédien. Tout en entamant une carrière d'acteur de théâtre et de cinéma (il fut de la troupe professionnelle du Théâtre populaire romand à ses grandes heures, signa des mises en scène pour la Théâtrale de Tramelan,). On lui doit la création du premier Centre de culture et de loisirs (CCL) de l'Arc jurassien, celui de Saint-Imier, en 1970. En pionnier, il se battit pour cette réalisation, récolta des fonds en compagnie, notamment, du chanteur Michel Bühler. Durant la période où il en fut l’animateur professionnel, Barbara, Juliette Gréco, Léo Ferré et Claude Nougaro furent à l’affiche sur la scène de Saint-Imier.
