En 2007, Drucilla, la femme de Neil décède tragiquement en tombant d'une falaise en essayant d'aider son amie Sharon Newman lors d'une dispute entre elle et Phyllis Newman. Neil est inconsolable pendant quelque temps et redevient même alcoolique mais il se ressaisit
