Depuis la sortie de "Desireless" en 1997, Cherry a quitté Epic Records et a rejoint MCA Records où il a travaillé avec des producteurs comme The Dust Brothers et Rick Rubin. Sa sœur Neneh Cherry chante sur "Long Way Around".
