Johnny Kemp est un chanteur, compositeur, danseur et acteur né à Nassau (Bahamas) en 1959.
Biographie
Il effectue ses premiers pas comme chanteur dans les boites de nuit de Nassau dès l'âge de 13 ans. Il arrive à Harlem en 1979. On le découvre 3 ans plus tard crédité dans les chœurs de l'album "Sharing Your Love" du groupe Change. Son premier album solo, éponyme, sortira en 1986 et connaitra un succès mitigé, seul le single "Just Another Lover" sortira du lot. En décembre 1987, il sort son second album "Secrets Of Flying" contenant le fameux hit "Just Got Paid" produit par Teddy Riley, qui se classera numéro 1 des charts R&B US et dans le Top 10 au Billboard Hot 100. Le second hit de l'opus sera "Birthday Suit" qui figurera sur la BO du film "Sing" en 1989. Il est marié et père de 2 garçons, Jared et Jason.
