Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo en 1998
Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo est la première occidentale à avoir été reconnue comme réincarnation (tulku). Alyce Louise Zeoli est née le 12 octobre 1949 d'une mère juive et d'un père italien. Mariée et mère de famille, elle développa un intérêt pour le bouddhisme initialement du fait de rêves, puis en soutenant un monastère tibétain de Penor Rinpoché, qui la reconnut comme la réincarnation de Genyenma Ahkön Lhamo, Mandarava.
