Hand over mouth, parfois abrégé par HOM, est une locution anglo-saxonne pouvant se traduire par "main sur la bouche".

Dans son sens général, elle désigne l'action de mettre sa main sur la bouche d'une personne pour l'empêcher de parler.

Dans l'univers fétichiste, en particulier sur le Web, Hand over mouth désigne une pratique BDSM également appelée Handgag, qui consiste pour un homme ou une femme à faire taire son ou sa partenaire en plaquant sa main sur sa bouche.

Il peut s'agir d'un jeu érotique fondé sur une relation dominant(e)/dominé(e), dont l'attrait réside d'une part dans le sentiment de domination/soumission résultant de la privation de parole, et d'autre part dans la sensation tactile de la main sur la bouche, celle-ci étant une zone érogène.

Cette pratique peut entrer dans le cadre d'une relation sexuelle sadomasochiste, comme composante d'un scénario élaboré par les partenaires sexuels (ce qui suppose bien entendu un consentement mutuel).
