Gastrophryne olivacea est une espèce d'amphibien de la famille des Microhylidae.

Distribution

Cette espèce se rencontre :

• aux États-Unis,
  • dans le sud du Nebraska ;
  • le sud-est du Colorado
  • le sud de l'Arizona ;
• au Mexique, sur la côte pacifique,
  • dans le Sonora ;
  • le Sinaloa ;
  • le Nayarit ;
• toujours au Mexique mais dans l'intérieur des terres,
  • dans le Sonora ;
  • le centre du Chihuahua ;
  • le Coahuila ;
  • le Nuevo León ;
  • le Tamaulipas ;
  • l'extrême est du San Luis Potosí ;
  • les régions adjacentes situées dans le Veracruz.

Étymologie

Son nom d'espèce, dérivé du latin oliva, « olive », lui a été donné en référence à sa couleur.

Description

Son dos est olive avec des taches noires. Ses flancs sont marbrés de brun. Son ventre est jaune uniforme.
