David du Bose Gaillard (1859–1913) était un ingénieur de l'armée américaine il a participé à la construction du Canal de panama.
Biographie
Il est né à Manning, Caroline du Sud. Gaillard sortit diplômé de United States Military Academy de West Point en 1884. En 1907 il fut chargé de la construction de la partie centrale du Canal, qui scinde en deux le continent américain. Il mourut d'une tumeur au cerveau en 1913, quelques mois avant la fin de la construction du canal. La coupe Gaillard du Canal de Panama porte son nom en hommage.
