Christie Golden, née en 1963, a écrit une trentaine de romans de science-fiction, fantastique et horreur, et a reçu de nombreux prix.
En 1991, son premier roman, Le Vampire des Brumes, remporta un franc succès et vit l'apparition de l'archétype du vampire elfe. Joueuse passionnée du jeu World of Warcraft, elle a écrit de nombreux romans à succès se déroulant dans cet univers. Elle est également très prolifique dans l'univers de StarCraft, avec entre autres la trilogie du Templier Noir. Elle réside actuellement dans le Colorado, avec son mari et ses deux enfants, où elle travaille à trois livres sur l'univers de Star Wars en collaboration avec Aaron Allston et Troy Denning.
