Chase the Chance est le 2e single régulier de Namie Amuro sorti sur le label avex trax, ou le 4e sous son seul nom en comptant les deux sur le label Toshiba-EMI.
Il sort le 5 décembre 1995 au Japon, écrit et produit par Tetsuya Komuro. C'est le premier single de Namie Amuro à atteindre la 1re place du classement de l'Oricon, et le premier à dépasser le million de ventes. Il se vend à 225 090 exemplaires la première semaine, et reste classé pendant 20 semaines, pour un total de 1 361 710 exemplaires vendus.
La chanson-titre a été utilisé comme générique pour le drama The Chef. Elle apparaît dans une version remixée sur l'album Sweet 19 Blues, et plus tard dans sa version originale sur l'album compilation 181920. Les autres titres du single en sont des versions remixées.
Pour la promotion de ce single, Amuro continue à se produire avec les ex-Super Monkey's, en parallèle à leur propre carrière sous leur nouveau nom, MAX ; c'est cependant leur dernière collaboration ensemble. Amuro fait avec cette chanson sa première apparition sous son seul nom au Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
