The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada est un régiment d’infanterie des Forces armées canadiennes basé à Montréal. Il a fait partie des débarquements de Dieppe, de Normandie et des opérations de la bataille de Normandie lors de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Le Black Watch (Régiment royal écossais) du Canada est le plus ancien régiment écossais au Canada.

Histoire

Seconde Guerre mondiale

The Black Watch of Canada a participé avec les Fusiliers Mont-Royal et le Royal Regiment of Canada au désastreux débarquement de Dieppe le 19 août 1942 où ils subissent d'énormes pertes ; les plus importantes que des troupes canadiennes eurent à subir.

The Black Watch of Canada fait aussi partie des troupes canadiennes qui débarquent en Normandie et participe à la bataille de Normandie en 1944. Il prend part au sein de la 2e Division d'infanterie canadienne aux opérations Atlantic, Spring et Totalize pour la prise de la Poche de Falaise.
